Over the last year we imagine you might have been challenged with a busier or noisier household due to the increase in home working and homeschooling. Did you know your ceiling can play a role in softening and improving the acoustics in your room?
Our acoustic ceiling of choice is PONGS’ DESCOR Acoustic Ceilings. This high tech stretch ceiling system absorbs noisy sounds and improves the acoustics in your room. They also look pretty cool with a range of design options in terms of colours, customised prints and even different textures.
Above and below are images from a recent acoustic ceiling we installed in Guildford. As you can see this ceiling was for a home cinema room, so it was even more important to get the acoustics spot on!
The fabric employed was from DESCOR’s Premium acoustic range in a matt black finish. This material is in acoustic absorption class A with an absorption value of .9. The acoustic effect is achieved by invisible micro-perforations in the recyclable polyester ceiling canvas, and then noise levels are reduced further with the addition of a sound insulation fleece above the canvas. To create an extra wow factor for this project we added fiber optic lights with a UFO LED RGBW Light source controlled via a DMX lighting system. The ceiling can then be set to create a multi-coloured or natural sparkling night sky, as you can see in the video below.
