Please allow us to share one of our first stretch ceiling projects in 2025.
We are particularly proud of this stretch ceiling installation and believe it shows our ability to work closely with a commercial business to deliver a quality install in super quick time.
In this instance we were engaged by HR and Business Support Ltd to replace the suspended tile ceiling above the indoor swimming pool at the Connaught Hotel & Spa, Bournemouth. We installed a white matt stretch ceiling. The total project covered 170 square meters and included 38 integrated fittings.

To minimise disruption to guests, we agreed with HR and Business Support to carry out the work in early January, a relatively quiet time for the hotel after the busy Christmas and New Year period. We also agreed to complete the install in rapid time, only 4 days in the end, to minimise the days the swimming pool and spa area was unavailable to guests.
This was a challenging task, but through the dedication and hard work of our team and close collaboration with HR and Business Support Ltd, the project was completed successfully and on time. We were exceptionally grateful for the luxury accommodation and gourmet meals provided by the Connaught Hotel & Spa during the installation. It definitely helped keep our energy levels up!
Head to Head: Stretch versus Suspended Tile Ceilings
There are a number of very good reasons why we recommend you choose stretch ceilings for your swimming pool over suspended tile ceilings:
- Stretch ceilings can be installed twice as fast as suspended title ceilings.
- Suspended tile ceilings weigh between 10 to 50 times more than stretch ceilings. That’s a lot more labour required to move them and energy and vehicles to transport them.
- Suspended title ceilings don’t last as long as stretch ceilings which come with a 10 year guarantee.
- Stretch ceilings require minimal maintenance whereas suspended tile ceilings require extensive cleaning every five years.
- Stretch ceilings are made from PVC plastic so they do not suffer from mould, condensation or corrosion from exposure to toxic gases such as chlorine.
- Stretch ceilings are 100% recyclable whereas suspended tile ceilings are non-recyclable.
- Unlike suspended tile ceilings, stretch ceilings are waterproof so they can provide additional protection against leaks.
